    In order to take advantage of the emerging opportunities to improve the performance of buildings, the Boards of Directors of the Building Performance Institute (BPI), Malta, NY and Residential Energy Services Network (RESNET) have formally agreed to explore developing a seamless relationship between the organizations to create a robust national market and infrastructure for certified building performance.
    The two organizations' boards have agreed to work toward a common goal of having a unified standard for the two organizations.
    The boards of both groups have appointed representatives to serve as a joint committee to investigate coalescing the two organizations to create the robust market and infrastructure for certified building performance.
    Representing BPI are board members Stephen Cowell, Laverne Dalgleish, Rick Gerardi, David Hepinstall, Helen Perrine, and BPI's acting chief executive officer Larry Zarker.
    Representing RESNET are board members Philip Fairey, David Goldstein, Kelly Parker, and RESNET executive director Steve Baden.
