NATE Approves Cliplight Mfg. for HVACR Testing/Training

North American Technician Excellence (NATE), Arlington, Va., has announced that Cliplight Mfg., a Toronto-based manufacturer of refrigeration sealants, moisture-removing agents, dyes and other HVAC tools, is now a NATE-approved training and testing organization specializing in HVACR education.

Cliplight's first NATE seminar, "The Truth Behind R-410A" will be presented February 23 at Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology (TSCT), Lancaster, PA. The two-hour class, to be presented three times throughout the day, will include classroom and hands-on R-410A system repair training and is approved for two continuing education NATE credits, a non-profit certification program for HVACR technicians.

The seminar is open to all contractors and wholesalers throughout the Mideast at a nominal $15 that will include product samples and refreshments.

The seminar, which will be taught by Cliplight's Director of Research, Paul Appler. Appler is a renowned HVACR industry speaker and inventor of Super Seal™ sealants, Dry R™ moisture-removing agents, and Flash™ leak detection dye, will reveal R-410A challenges confronting contractors today, especially moisture-related problems and proper evacuation techniques.

"This subject is important because assuring that systems are clean, dry and tight has always been critical, but even more so with R-410A refrigeration repair," says Steve Phyillaier, CMS, HVAC instructor, TSCT. " Incorrect evacuation technique is one of the most common mistakes contractors make-- they do it wrong, get frustrated and then don't bother with evacuations anymore."

Appler has developed a lean five-step evacuation approach that reduces service time on residential air conditioners while still assuring the greater amount of moisture is removed.

"Contractors aren't always committed to investing the necessary time to the evacuation process or don't always have the proper tools available," Phyillaier says.
