    SEMCO Incorporated has been honored with the Oak Ridge National Laboratory’s (ORNL) Small Business-of-the-Year Award. SEMCO was selected for its technical performance, and for being a leader in the energy recovery HVAC market in the U.S. through its commitment to energy efficiency, humidity control, and indoor air quality. SEMCO has supported ORNL’s Advanced Desiccant Technology Program with research and development services, including a market investigation into specialized ventilation air pre-conditioning products, and developing new active-desiccant products,. Several successful field pilot test site installations of these newly developed products and two U.S. patent applications have resulted from SEMCO’s work. ORNL is a multi-program science and technology laboratory managed for the U.S. Department of Energy by UT-Battelle, LLC. Scientists and engineers at ORNL conduct basic and applied research and development to create scientific knowledge and technological solutions that strengthen the nation's leadership in key areas of science; increase the availability of clean, abundant energy; restore and protect the environment; and contribute to national security.
