RSES Adds Sessions to Annual Conference, Oct. 27-30

    Oct. 20, 2009
Refrigeration Service Engineers Society has added two technical sessions to its Annual Conference agenda.

Two more technical sessions enhance the educational program during the RSES 72nd Annual Conference — "Lean & Green" —at the Hilton Minneapolis/St. Paul Airport Mall of America hotel in Bloomington, MN, Oct. 27-31, 2009.

The conference, hosted by the RSES Twin Cities Chapter, will focus on education as well as many industry-related topics.

The two new educational sessions include: “Being Green Starts with Proper Service,” by Rich Hoke, CMS, of the City of Elgin, IL. This two-hour session will cover basic- to intermediate-level material. Hoke will explore how good service makes us green by discussing the following topics: what is green; combustion; airflow; gas pressure; filtration; humidity; heat exchangers; replacement options; and customer education.

“High Performance Heating and Chilled Water Plants Using Heat Recovery Chillers,” will be led by Richard D. Hermans, PE, HFDP, of McQuay International. This two-hour session will cover advanced-level material. Hermans will discuss the importance of energy conservation and how several manufacturers are now offering specialized chillers/heaters that conserve energy and increase performance. He will specifically detail potential energy efficiency improvements and the unique operation and service requirements of high performance buildings.
