• Shannon Named Trane/PHCC Contractor of the Year

    Alton Shannon, president of Shannons Inc., International Falls, MN, was named the 2006 Trane/PHCC HVAC Contractor of the Year at the recent annual convention

    Alton Shannon, president of Shannon’s Inc., International Falls, MN, was named the 2006 Trane/PHCC HVAC Contractor of the Year at the recent annual convention of the Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors’ National Association (PHCC).
    Shannon was nominated by the Iron Range Association of PHCC, and was ultimately selected for his professionalism, merchandising skills, management techniques, innovative HVAC practices, trade involvement, and community service.
    Shannon is known for his involvement in both the community and the industry. For example, he purchased an old school and renovated it to become his office, showroom and a classroom for the apprentice program.
    The first runner-up honor went to Tom Warner, president of Utility Service Express, LLC, Reston, VA.
    Second runner-up award went to Patrick Nugent, President of John Nugent Sons, Inc., McLean, VA.
    Candidates for HVAC Contractor of the Year are evaluated by a committee of PHCC members using a 100-point system that weighs accomplishments in six areas: Professionalism, Merchandising Skills, Management Skills, Innovative Plumbing Skills, Trade Involvement and Community Service.
