    MCAA Names Student Chapter Contestants

    Dec. 29, 2015
This year, contestants will design and engineer an eight-story office building, that would meet LEED Gold requirements.

The Mechanical Contractors Association of America (MCAA) announced it received 26 entries for its 2015-2016 Student Chapter Competition.

The competition pits future industry professionals against each other, in a test of skill and knowledge about mechanical systems and the business of contracting.

This year, students will design and eight-story office building. The building plan requires an energy-efficient HVAC system designed for ease of maintenance, low operating cost, and Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold certification.

The four best scoring teams will be invited to present their proposals at the MCAA 2016 conference in Orlando, Fla., on March 21.
