    Southland Industries Announces Restructuring

    Aug. 5, 2013
The company’s most recent restructuring is a continuation of the company's organic growth, allowing Southland to offer its engineering, construction, service, and energy services capabilities as standalone services or to be coupled together. With this new strategy, Southland is also able to serve organizations that may not be in the market for integrated delivery methods.
Southland Industries' new website incorporates its new logo, and features a large carousel that highlights new projects and company capabilities.
Ted Lynch: Southland Industries offers a service for every stage of the building lifecycle.

Southland Industries, one of the nation's largest mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) building systems experts providing engineering, construction, service, and energy service solutions, recently restructured its offerings to allow customers more flexibility in contracting Southland’s building systems expertise. Specializing in integrated project delivery methods such as design-build, Southland will now also offer its engineering and construction services independently.

“We want customers in every stage of the building lifecycle to recognize the benefits and unique solutions that Southland provides. If a client believes maximum value on his or her job can be secured through a single capability offered by Southland, we want to accommodate that request and build a lasting relationship. Southland will also continue to offer design-build-maintain packages complete with energy services solutions for projects focusing on all stages of the building lifecycle,” says Southland Industries CEO Ted Lynch.  “Because our in-house experts take a holistic approach to any project, we can undoubtedly provide maximum efficiency and value and we want our clients to have more input and flexibility as to how they take advantage of that expertise,” Lynch says.

Beginning as a Southern California-based supplier of residential heating solutions, Southland has grown organically over the years, expanding its services and capabilities to serve a wide variety of markets and industries. The company’s most recent restructuring is a continuation of that growth, allowing Southland to offer its engineering, construction, service, and energy services capabilities as standalone services or to be coupled together. With this new strategy, Southland is also able to serve organizations that may not be in the market for integrated delivery methods.

To visually represent this change, Southland has also introduced a fresh new look. The evolution of Southland’s logo signals a new direction for the company, while also allowing for separate and unique identities for each of its offerings.

Lynch explains, “As we transform our approach to the market, this is the perfect time to represent our transformation visually by adopting a new look that feels as innovative as the multifaceted solutions we regularly generate for our customers. Southland’s rebranding highlights the high standards that our customers have come to expect in our work."

Consisting of two elements, the logo combines the point of connection symbol and the “Southlandind” word mark. The abstraction of the engineering symbol for the point of connection represents the connection that Southland has with its clients and the internal connections that Southland maintains to serve clients better from beginning to end. Delivering superior results for a variety of clients and industries, Southland continues to pave the way as an industry leader in improving the way buildings are designed, built, and maintained.

Southland Industries is a 2001 recipient of the ContractingBusiness.com Commercial HVAC Contractor of the Year award, and has won multiple Design/Build awards from the publication.
