Southland Industries Establishes National Service Division

    Sept. 4, 2014
Southland Service will offer customers the same capabilities and consistent quality experience, wherever they may be in the U.S.

Southland Industries, Union City, CA, one of the nation's largest mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) building systems experts providing engineering, construction, service and energy service solutions, has announed it will unite its service and building automation controls departments into a single division, to be known as Southland Service.

Soutland Service will be guided by Executive Vice President Joe Cvetas, and will work to amplify the company’s service and building automation offerings. Sources say that through a more focused and aligned approach, Southland Service will be able to offer customers the same capabilities and consistent quality experience no matter which region of the country they reside. Newly-appointed Vice President of Service and Building Automation, Chris Lofaso, will oversee all service and controls related initiatives across the company and will be largely responsible for the growth of the new division.  Lofaso has a master's degree in executive leadership, a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, and more than 30 years of experience in the building technology industry. He is also a registered professional engineer. “With a strong service and building automation background and a proven track record of running large service and automation operations, I have high expectations for Chris as he grows our service and controls business in the coming years. I am happy to have Chris on board with us and know his success in this role will be a direct effect of the passion he has for helping customers efficiently reach their goals,” Cvetas says. Ronan O’Mahony has been hired as Southland Service’s national sales manager of service and building automation. In addition to concentrating on key customer relationships, O’Mahony will create and implement consistent sales strategies as well as identify new technologies and innovative service solutions for Southland’s customers. “Our goal is to provide world-class service and make our customers’ lives easier by solving problems. By ensuring their buildings run more efficiently and reliably, we help manage the lifecycle of their buildings,” Cvetas says.

Southland Industries was the 2001 ContractingBusiness.com Commercial HVAC Contractor of the Year. The company won a CB Design/Build Award in 2010.
