Neuco Expansion Completed, Draws Rave Reviews

Neuco Inc., a leading master distributor of HVACR controls, recently completed their expansion on an 18,000-square-foot multi-use structure connecting to their existing building. Office space, a training facility and a parking garage comprise the new accommodations. The project completion culminated this summer with an open house celebration attended by wholesalers and manufacturers from around the country.

“The response from wholesalers and manufacturers has been overwhelmingly positive,” says Neuco President Paul Neustadt. “I had one customer tell me, ‘Wow, you guys are really going to be able to do so much more.’ He was right.”

He noted that wholesalers now gain the benefit of increased stock levels and inventory options from Neuco - a direct result of the former office space promptly being converted to a warehouse. Plus, further upgrades are under way to increase capacity and efficiency in the warehouse, including additional racking for larger refrigeration products such as compressors as well as a conveyor belt system for a seamless flow of products from shelf to shipment.

Neuco also surprised their consulting engineer, whom they charged with increasing the efficiency of moving product out the door. “We told him we wanted the most efficient system possible but our purpose was not to reduce head count, but rather to be able to ship more while increasing our accuracy, with the same head count.” The consultant acknowledged that in today's market, the thought of retaining the same number of employees is uncommon.

“We are in the business of not only providing the best possible products, but the service behind what we sell,” Neustadt says. “We also know that it is our employees who are the backbone of our customer service.” Not only has enthusiasm been high from customers, but employees are also thrilled, he says. “They have more space, communication is easier and the addition represents that as a team we're doing something right.”
