RemTec International, an EPA-certified reclaimer located in Bowling Green, OH, actively continues to support and respond to the needs of the community and environment.
Students and staff in the HVACR/Piping Systems Technology program at Penta Career Center were given an opportunity to tour RemTec's facility, to learn about recovery and reclamation within the industry and why it is so important that refrigerants be properly recovered and reclaimed.
Penta Career Center is a high-performing school that provides options and opportunities in real-world learning, partnerships with business and industry and for students to become productive citizens.
The 2010 Senior Class saw firsthand what is involved in the reclamation process, from recovery to distillation to necessary destruction of refrigerants. Patti Ellingson conducted a plant tour and presentation discussing the R-22 Phase Down and EPA projected shortages, including the direct impact this will have on the students as new mechanical contractors in the HVACR industry.
"The students were engaged, asked insightful questions and were a pleasure to work with," says Patti Ellingson, director of Wholesale Development. "As a business partner to Penta Career Center, RemTec is committed to the education of the youth of our industry, and I look forward to working with next year's seniors as well."
