    Aug. 8, 2017
Harwood will oversee the company’s rapidly growing HVAC business.

Ferguson, Newport News, Va., has appointed Carlton Harwood as vice president for HVAC. In his new role, Harwood will oversee the company’s rapidly growing HVAC business, which is the third largest HVAC distributor in the U.S. and includes more than 130 locations dedicated to selling HVAC equipment, parts and supplies. He succeeds Alex Hutcherson, who is now Ferguson’s Chief Operating Officer.

Harwood joined Ferguson in 1988, and spent 10 years with Ferguson’s HVAC group before holding leadership positions throughout the company, including vice president of Ferguson’s hospitality and facilities maintenance business. He rejoined the HVAC group in August 2015 to lead their efforts in Florida, Virginia, West Virginia, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware and New Jersey.

“I’m excited for the tremendous opportunity Ferguson has to continue to expand our HVAC business through product diversification and new technology that meets the needs of our customers,” said Harwood. “It’s an honor to be involved with such talented, driven and enthusiastic associates, as we continue to pursue opportunities to positively contribute to this great industry.”

“Carlton Harwood has strong relationships with our vendor partners and customers alike,” said Alex Hutcherson, chief operating officer and former senior vice president for HVAC . “Those relationships, plus his extensive experience and in-depth knowledge of our industry, will help drive sales growth in our HVAC business.”
