• HVACR Educator/Trainer Conference to ExploreImpact of Faster HCFC Phaseout

    Feb. 15, 2012
The conference offers about 40 high-impact sessions.

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has proposed an accelerated phase-out of the consumption and production of HCFC's resulting in a 20-40% reduction in the quantity of R-22 available for production and import.

A reduction in the availability will impact contractors, wholesalers and educators.

HVACR professionals are invited to hear from representatives from Honeywell, Arkema and DuPont, to learn how an accelerated phase-out will impact them, and about the latest in R-22 alternatives and the criteria for selecting refrigerants.

The venue is the HVAC Excellence National HVACR Educators / Trainers Conference and Exposition in Las Vegas, NV, March 18-20, 2012.

R-22 supplies will become constrained creating a demand for retrofitting. A large number of retrofit refrigerants have entered the market making claims as to their suitability and ease of use. Stephen Spletzer of Arkema Refrigerants will navigate through the claims and address appropriate solutions.

Ron Vogl of Honeywell will cover HFC refrigerant composition and the resultant system effects of various commercial offerings. He'll discuss the criteria to consider before starting a refrigerant project that will lead to a better understanding of the interaction between lubricants and refrigerants in working systems. Attendees will learn how to use thermodynamics as a screening tool when selecting refrigerants.

Christina Spalding, Charles Allgood Ph.D., and Timothy Snyder of DuPont Refrigerants will explain the latest advancements in DuPont refrigerant technology.

The conference offers nearly 40, high impact sessions, conducted by renowned industry leaders covering: new and changing technologies, changes in federal legislation, energy efficiency, green and sustainable technologies, best practices, training techniques that work and more. The conference has over 70 industry exhibits and roundtables you the opportunity to network with industry leaders and peers.

ESCO Institute, an industry leader in refrigerant training and certification invites contractors and educator to join their colleagues March 18-20, 2012 at the South Point Hotel in Las Vegas, NV for the 2012 conference.
