LEWISVILLE, TX -- On Saturday, April 9th at A#1 Air in Lewisville, HVAC technicians from the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex participated in the first annual Home Pro Challenge. Sponsored by A#1 Air and Retail Ready Career Center, this non-recruitment event recognized the brightest and most talented technicians in the business.
The Home Pro Challenge at A#1 Air in Lewisville, Texas was a huge success, with $10,000 and $20,000 prizes awarded, and much more.
Thirty-one technicians who reside in the Dallas/Fort Worth area took a 100-question test given by Retail Ready Career Center. This comprehensive test covered technical knowledge, local code enforcement and customer service skills. Eligibility was based on two categories – "Under Two Years' Experience," and "Over Two Years' Experience." First-place winners in each category were those who completed the test with the highest score in the fastest time.
Owners Sherry and James Green of A#1 Air were proud to award the $10,000 grand prize to first-place winner Stephen Johnson in the "Under Two Years' Experience" category, and the $20,000 grand prize to first-place winner Joshua Wallace in the "Over Two Years' Experience" category. Other prizes awarded to 2nd, 3rd and 4th place winners included HVAC tools, complete home comfort systems from Daikin and Lennox, and smart home products from NEST.
The primary goal of the Home Pro Challenge was to raise the bar for performance in the HVAC industry. According to James Green, "We were really impressed with all the participants' competitive spirit and desire to excel in their field." Sherry Green added, "Everyone had a lot of fun and we enjoyed rewarding the hard-working pros who go the extra mile for their customers."
