Bosch Hydronic Air Handlers for Tankless Water Heaters

    Aug. 10, 2016
The new Bosch Hydronic Air Handler can replace furnaces with a ducted system, eliminating the need for a gas pipe, venting and fresh air intake required for furnaces.
Bosch Thermotechnology Corp. has launched its new Bosch Hydronic Air Handlers, offering a more efficient, compact and advanced home heating system. According to company sources, when the Hyrdonic Air Handler is paired with the Bosch Greentherm Gas Condensing Tankless Water Heater, homeowners can benefit from a more efficient heating system with a virtually endless supply of domestic hot water.
The new Bosch Hydronic Air Handler can replace furnaces with a ducted system, eliminating the need for a gas pipe, venting and fresh air intake required for furnaces. The entire system is easily managed by an integrated control board that connects to the home’s thermostat. When the thermostat calls for heat, the air handler immediately activates the integrated pump, turning on the fan 30 seconds later, allowing the heat exchanger to preheat to deliver comfortable warm air from start-up. After the thermostat is satisfied, the blower runs an additional 30 seconds to deliver conditioned air. The Bosch Hydronic Air Handler has an integrated pump timer that turns on the water circulator for 2 minutes every six hours to help prevent bacteria growth in the hot water system. The Bosch air handler may be configured to work with A/C systems, providing a complete heating, cooling and hot water solution. When the thermostat calls for cooling, the control board activates only the blower. The new hydronic air handler connects seamlessly with tankless water heaters, transferring the unit’s highly efficient hot water through a hydronic heating coil. As the hot water circulates through the pipe, warm air is sent through the residential duct system. The cool water in the hydronic coil then recirculates to the tankless unit to be reheated.  Two models – AHU 50 and AHU 70 – can be sized with most cfm and BTU output ratings to suit most typical size homes. Combining both the Bosch Hydronic Air Handler and an ENERGY STAR 95% EF-rated Greentherm Tankless Water Heater results in an ultra-efficient heating and domestic hot water system. Plus, the combined system can provide home heating and hot water simultaneously so homeowners don’t sacrifice comfort. The product carries a limited five year parts and one-year limited labor warranty (see full warranty details at www.boschheatingandcooling.com).boschheatingandcooling.com
