In select months, ContractingBusiness.com picks a leading HVAC contractor and takes a look at the products, tools, and services that he or she has chosen to help make their company successful.

This month we feature the tools of the trade used by Chappel's Heating, Cooling & Home Performance of Carol Stream, IL. We met Sue Chappel at Comfortech 2014 in Nashville. After a short chat, we knew Chappel's was worth of mention.

Established in 1984, Chappel’s Heating & Cooling creates “raving fans” by making people absolutely comfortable in their homes. The company motto is, “Comfort Today — Energy for Tomorrow.” Chappel’s uses home performance methods to build a culture that focuses on the home as a complete “system” of interrelated parts rather than a collection of separate components. This takes into account the interaction between the thermal envelope, mechanical systems, lighting, and even how the occupants use the living spaces. Technicians analyze homes using advanced diagnostic techniques, such as blower door pressure testing and thermal photography. Once they determine that the home’s comfort dynamics are working together, they recommend solutions that help homeowners achieve a safe, healthy, clean, comfortable and affordable indoor living environment.
