Refrigeration Service Engineers Society (RSES) has appointed Rich Hoke, CMS, as interim RSES executive vice president until further notice. He replaces Mark Lowry who resigned from the position in late 2013.
Hoke will work directly with RSES Headquarters staff as well as the board of directors to ensure all areas of the organization are upheld through the transition. RSES is confident that Hoke will handle the transition well.
“We are delighted Rich has agreed to step in as our interim executive vice president,” says RSES International President Joe Marchese, CMS. “Rich is a long-time RSES and industry veteran with a solid managerial background.”
Hoke has been a Member of RSES since 1988. He currently serves as the director of Regions 8 and 11.
Hoke is the current building maintenance superintendent for the city of Elgin and has more than 30 years of experience in facility management. He has also worked part time for more than 20 years as an instructor at Elgin Community College in the heating, ventilation and air-conditioning program. He holds many industry certifications and is a member of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers, Illinois Council of Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Educators and the National Association of Power Engineers.
While Hoke holds the interim position, the board of directors is looking to fill the position permanently. “We are fortunate to have him on our team and even more fortunate to have him guide our staff until we find a permanent executive vice president, which we are actively seeking,” says Marchese.
