    July 24, 2012
'Dead On Arrival' warranty is extended from 30 to 90 days when a factory-certified technician is on-site during start-up.

Johnson Controls is expanding its comprehensive technical support services for Coleman distributors and contractors, to include application, startup and commissioning (ACS) services.

“Johnson Controls is proud to supply its heating, ventilation and air-conditioning (HVAC) distributors and contractors with strategic support that improves customer service and grows overall business,” says Dave Negrey, Johnson Controls director of technical services, Unitary Products. “Everyone will benefit from the enhanced offering and the consistency of a qualified installation and follow-up support.”

Sources say with this new offering, Johnson Controls provides the highest level of technical support services for complex commercial installations. ASC services enable distributors and contractors to partner with a highly qualified, factory-certified technician, who will help handle the complex issues that arise during application, start-up and commissioning. Upfront, the technician provides assistance in the equipment specification process, and then oversees start-up and commissioning at the installation site, which ensures proper mechanical systems and controls setup at start-up.

Technicians also can assist in training operations and maintenance personnel.

Along with this service, the “Dead On Arrival” warranty is extended from 30 to 90 days when a factory-certified technician is on-site during start-up. Every factory-certified technician undergoes a rigorous training program that includes:

    • North American Technician Excellence (NATE) certification or the equivalent
    • United Association’s STAR or Red Seal
    • Johnson Controls safety training and testing
    • Five days of commercial equipment and controls training at Johnson Controls commercial training facility in Norman, OK
    • Successful completion of multiple equipment start-ups and tests conducted during classroom training.

ASC services can be quoted directly from the Unitary Sales Tool (UST), a selection software package designed for contractors and distributors, or by calling Johnson Controls Technical Services at 877/874-7378.

In addition to ASC services, Johnson Controls offers a host of other technical support programs, including Call Center Support, ProficienTECH, an award-winning technical training program, UST and Mobile Apps.
