Heating and cooling manufacturer Nordyne has agreed to sponsor the November 4, 2011, ihear Symposia through the St. Joseph Institute for the Deaf, a new program aimed at helping children develop spoken language through online therapy. The ihear Symposia will provide components of the ihear program and online therapy for children who are deaf or who have hearing impairments.

“At Nordyne, we enthusiastically support web-based technology,” says Dave LaGrand, president and CEO of Nordyne. “So it’s a natural fit to support a local organization that is using the Internet to make meaningful differences in the lives of children.”

ihear features one-on-one interactive sessions with listening and spoken language therapists, delivered through a secure Internet connection. The therapy is complete with lesson plans, coaching for the parent or teacher, and regular progress reports. Because the therapy is through the Internet, geography is no longer a barrier.

Those interested in more information or attending the seminar should contact St. Joseph Institute for the Deaf at 636-532-3211.
