Commercial HVAC: Campbell, Inc. Acquires The Enterprise Corporation

    Nov. 18, 2017
Richard Starr grew Enterprise to be one of the industry's leading temperature controls and building automation providers. Campbell, Inc. has served Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan with commercial HVAC solutions since 1968.

Campbell, Inc., a leading provider of commercial HVAC solutions in Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan, announced that it has acquired The Enterprise Corporation. The Enterprise Corporation is a trusted provider of indoor climate and energy management solutions in commercial and industrial buildings, headquartered in Cleveland, OH. The transaction was completed on November 6, 2017. The terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

“We were looking to grow our company, and the former owner of The Enterprise Corporation, Richard Starr, wanted to have a secure plan in place for his employees and customers,” said Kris Campbell, President of Campbell, Inc. “It is a win-win situation. We are both a part of the Linc Service® franchise network and our company goals align. By uniting the businesses, we will be able to provide an expansive portfolio of HVAC, mechanical and energy efficiency solutions throughout Northern Ohio.”

The Enterprise Corporation was founded in 1977 after the business known as Enterprise Heating & Air Conditioning, Inc. was sold to Richard Starr. Since then, The Enterprise Corporation has been a respected name in Northeast Ohio. In 1996, Enterprise became a Linc Service franchise to accelerate growth and market penetration. Linc Service is a franchise brand of ABM Franchising Group, which is a portfolio of franchise networks that deliver mechanical and electrical service and preventive maintenance solutions to commercial, industrial and institutional buildings. Campbell is also a Linc Service franchise and has been a part of the network since 1982. With a 21-year history of working together in the franchise network, a seamless integration is expected since standard operating procedures and management principles are shared by both companies.

“We are looking to extend the proud legacy established by The Enterprise Corporation,” said Richard Starr. “I want to ensure a smooth transition for our employees and an uninterrupted delivery of best-in-class solutions to our clients so Campbell is the obvious choice. I am proud of what we have built over the last forty years. I have every confidence everyone will continue to thrive with Campbell.”
