Southwire Company, a leading supplier of thermostat wiring for residential and commercial buildings, is expanding its product offering by bringing its proven SIM Technology® to the HVAC market. SIMpull Tstat was shown at Southwire's booth (McCormick Place South Hall, Booth 5191) at the AHR Expo in Chicago from Jan. 23-25.

SIMpull Tstat is Southwire's latest innovation, which combines traditional thermostat wiring with Southwire's patented SIM Technology®. SIM (Slikqwik® Infused Membrane) Technology was originally introduced in 2004 and is now an integral part of Southwire's product line — creating faster installs and cleaner handling. SIMpull Tstat, which is designed to cut time on the job, is being made available to the HVAC market at the same price as Southwire's traditional Tstat wiring.

“The SIMpull Tstat will make installing HVAC wiring quicker, easier and more efficient,” says Donna Graham, vice president of Marketing, OEM Division at Southwire. “SIM Technology makes wiring easier to pull, abrasion-resistant and easier to strip. Expanding the lineup to address the issues that HVAC contractors face is a logical progression for this proven wiring technology.”

More than 50,000 contractors, engineers, facility managers and original equipment manufacturers are expected to attend the AHR Expo, where 2,000 exhibitors will display the latest products and services for the heating, ventilation, air-conditioning and refrigeration market.

“Southwire has been serving the needs of HVAC contractors for many years and we recognize they have many pressures placed on their ability to run profitable businesses. This is especially true in today's economy when so many jobs involve renovations and retrofits. Getting a clean pull can be difficult when you face a maze of obstacles like old wiring, clamps and ductwork,” says Winn Wise, president, OEM Division at Southwire. “We've seen the reaction of electrical contractors to the time- and money-saving benefits of our SIM Technology and want to make those advantages available to HVAC contractors. Our network of regional service centers helps eliminate downtime, meaning HVAC contractors can count on on-time delivery and superior service.”

SIM Technology® products have revolutionized the way wire is pulled into conduit, and in the process has gained industry-wide acceptance among users. This improved technology resulted in Southwire launching SIMpull Solutions® in 2009 to the electrical contractor community. SIM Technology® and SIMpull Solutions® products and services have racked up a variety of industry awards from various sources that recognize the products as being a smarter, faster, safer and more efficient way to handle the wire installation process.
