Thrifty Supply, an HVAC distributor with eight branches throughout the greater Northwest and Northern California, announced during the recently-completed HARDI Annual Conference, that it will acquire the assets of Blacks Wholesale, an HVAC distributor with five branches throughout Eastern Washington and Western Montana.
The acquisition will be completed on or about December 14, 2018. After that date, the combined company will continue to operate under both the Thrifty and Blacks names indefinitely.
Thrifty and Blacks are both independent, family-owned businesses, with multiple generation of family ownership and management. Their employees and businesses share many of the same values and culture. Sources report Thrifty and Blacks — each members of the Blue Hawk buying group — have been respected competitors for decades. Combined, they will expand customer service throughout their current markets.
Rolly Johnson, president of Blacks, will remain with the combined company, and continue to work with customers and employees. According to sources, both companies are excited that Mr. Johnson has agreed to assume the role of Eastern Regional Manager, and will oversee all branches east of the Cascades.
