It's always sad news when a member of the HVAC community passes on, but this announcement is one that strikes too close to home. Last week, on March 13, 2014, former Contracting Business.com national sales manager Jack Hutchinson passed away at his home in Brunswick, OH.
Jack was only 62 years old. He was an owner and vice president of sales of HVACR Business magazine and was a very well-liked figure in the HVAC publishing industry. Jack will be missed by many.
Hutchinson was a U.S. Army Veteran. He was quick with a smile and a story or a joke and had an infectious laugh that created a warm atmosphere, no matter who he was talking to. His love of his family, especially all his grandchildren, was never more apparent than when he shared stories of their latest antics. He met his wife Doreen while working for Contracting Business.com (Doreen worked for the parent company, Penton Media, Inc. at the time) and they enjoyed 27 years together.
He leaves behind two sons, two daughters, six grandchildren, two brothers, and a sister.
Hutchinson's funeral was on Tuesday, March 18th. For me, the world is a darker place without him in it. Rest in peace, Jack.
Memorials in his name may be forwarded to a charity of choice.
