Columbus State Community College student Susan Scott was recently awarded a $2,000 scholarship by the Excellence Alliance Foundation to continue her studies in the field of air-conditioning and heating. This scholarship was completely funded by two Excellence Alliance, Inc. members, Mechanical Systems of Dayton, Inc. of Dayton, OH and R.N. Smith of Lancaster, OH. The Excellence Alliance Foundation is a non-profit organization created to attract, educate and develop all levels of the contracting workforce. It’s a proactive foundation that addresses the severe personnel shortage in the HVAC industry. Excellence Alliance Foundation provides funds to qualified educational institutions as described in Internal Revenue Code Section 170(b)(1)(A)(ii) for distribution as qualified scholarships to individuals seeking education or training in the contracting industry. The intent of Excellence Alliance Foundation is to award as many scholarships as possible for the education of the future workforce in the contracting industry. Excellence Alliance, Inc. is a membership organization that provides independent contracting companies with comprehensive business management tools that include training, purchasing power, human resources, consulting and marketing.
