MagnaClean Professional2XP Restores Hydronic System Efficiency

    Aug. 4, 2017
ADEY introduces a magnetic filtration solution for North America’s most common pipe size — 1 1/4” NPT.

ADEY introduces into the North American market the MagnaClean Professional2XP, a magnetic filter with a powerful neodymium magnet that captures and eliminates nearly all of the suspended iron oxide sludge circulating in a hydronic system. On its own, iron oxide can block narrow waterways and foul the pump. When combined with lime scale, the two substances can form a hard, enamel-like coating that further clogs and narrows waterways inside hydronic systems, reducing efficiency and causing expensive damage.

In studies of European residential systems, buildup of this damaging sludge can reduce heat transfer to the home by as much as 15 percent, and reduce boiler efficiency by up to 6 percent in only three weeks.

Ideal for 1” copper and 1 1/4” NPT iron pipework, the MagnaClean Professional2XP large-capacity canister also houses two nonmagnetic capture zones for larger circulating debris. It can be easily fitted on the return pipe to the boiler/circulator, and features low-profile drain valves and built-in air vents for easier servicing. It can handle large residential and light commercial applications.

The filter has no moving parts. Instead, the filter works as water is forced in a cyclonic flow around the magnet simply by the shape and location of the inlet and outlet. Installation of the filter does not block or restrict flow, and pressure drop is minimal.

Benefits to installers are: rapid in-line installation; integral flow-diverters ensure 360° distribution for uniform flow around the magnet; powerful permanent magnet with high, first-pass capture; bi-directional inlet and outlet that connect either way; rotating filter connections allow customizable installation options; easy dosing of ADEY treatment products via canister; and full-flow valves for minimal pressure drop.

End-users can see reduced heating bills, maintenance costs and carbon emissions; no loss of pressure or heat; no moving parts to replace; and system life extension.

The MagnaClean Professional2XP is part of a five-step Best Practice process pioneered by ADEY. Each step in the system combats water-quality issues to maintain total hydronic heating system health, optimizing system performance and efficiency.
