Quality Service Contractors (QSC) has hired a second business management coach to meet members’ requests for personalized assistance with their businesses.
John O’Connor, who joined QSC Feb. 1, will offer business support for members of QSC and the Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors—National Association (PHCC).
O'Connor's focus will be on working to help members improve their businesses through collaborative assistance.
A native of Buffalo, N.Y., O’Connor began his plumbing career in 1982 as a service technician. His management experience began in 1985 when he was promoted to branch manager.
During this period he expanded the business lines to include underground utility repair and replacement, and hydro jetting, with yearly sales of $2 million and profits of 13.8 percent.
In 1992 O’Connor relocated, with his wife and two sons, to Charlotte, N.C., where he took over a plumbing company with 16 trucks, that had lost market share and suffered from low employee morale.
By 2001 the company had grown to 33 trucks with yearly sales of $4 million and profits of 24.4 percent. Throughout the years of 1992 to 2001 O’Connor was recognized for consistent growth and profitability while maintaining a stable growing workforce.
QSC, an enhanced service group of PHCC, delivers state-of-the-art training programs, products and services for select members of PHCC’s service and repair membership.
