The Gustave A. Larson Company, Pewaukee, WI-based HVAC wholesaler, celebrates its 70th anniversary in July.
Founded by Gus Larson in 1936, the company has been family owned and operated, and is presently under the leadership of Gus Larson’s grandsons, Andrew Larson, president and chief executive officer, and Scott Larson, executive vice president and chief operating officer.
The Gustave A. Larson Company began as a small storefront in Madison, WI, with just two employees. Larsons now has 44 locations in fourteen states, with almost 400 employees. Each branch carries an extensive inventory of equipment and replacement parts. The Larson Company maintains a $55 million inventory and an in-house truck fleet that replenishes the branches nightly.
A computer system links all 44 locations with the Pewaukee corporate office and distribution center.
Each person on the Gustave A. Larson Company’s sales team has either a degree in HVACR from a technical college, or equivalent industry experience. As technology in HVACR evolves exponentially, the Larson Company continues to offer educational programs to its employees in order to stay a front-runner in the industry. Classes range from troubleshooting service issues to improving sales skills and contractor profitability.
“We don’t sell anything – our customers do. As a result, our focus is on helping them maximize their success,” says Andrew Larson.
