Unified Group Companies Meet at Annual Forum
HVAC company owners from across the country came together on November 9-12 for The Unified Group’s 13th Annual Meeting/Owners’ Forum in Dana Point, CA.
Dr. Alan Zimmerman kicked off the session with a presentation on leadership.
“Leadership has little or nothing to do with your title or your position. But it has everything to do with your ability to influence and bring out the best in others,” said Zimmerman. During his “Leadership Payoff” discussion Zimmerman shared strategies, ideas, and even lessons learned from his own life with attendees.
“It was a great reminder of the impact you have on others and their success,” said one Unified Group member.
The Annual Meeting/Owners’ Forum is the opportunity for owners to get together with their peers. Over the three-day session, attendees were able to discuss their business goals, leadership challenges, and strategic plans in both small and large groups.
“It’s refreshing to see that other contractors are going through the same issues,” said a meeting attendee. “It’s funny how I had thought my problems were unique. I found out today that I’m normal!”

Entek Corporation was recognized for providing thoughtful and thought-provoking feedback to fellow members
The Unified Group named Entek Corporation as its 2011 Member of the Year. Matt Todd, one of Entek Corporation’s owners, was presented with the award during the forum.

“Entek has been committed to getting their entire organization involved with The Unified Group,” said Julie Bishop, Unified Group executive director. “We're a stronger group because of the energy and ideas they bring to the members.”
The Member of the Year award is given to the member company that best embodies The Unified Group’s core goals of assisting the membership in growing their businesses and improving their bottom line profits, raising the level of excellence in the HVACR industry, providing members with the opportunity for continued improvement in all aspects of their businesses, and sharing best practices. Entek Corporation is the ninth company to join the Member of the Year Club.
