Gas appliance manufacturer Rinnai Corporation recently reached agreement with ex-Baltimore Orioles third baseman and Hall of Fame inductee Cal Ripken, Jr. on a multi-year endorsement agreement to promote the benefits of Rinnai’s tankless water heating products.
The company likens Ripkens record for 2,632 consecutive games to the performance and reliability of its tankless water heaters.
Ripken will appear in print, radio, television and online advertisements for Rinnai’s tankless water heating units, and make selected appearances on the company’s behalf.
“In the minor leagues, it was normal to run out of hot water and it was never fun,” said Cal Ripken, Jr. “Thanks to Rinnai, I won’t run out of hot water ever again. Rinnai is a strong brand with outstanding products and I am very happy to be a part of the Rinnai family.”
Since his retirement from baseball in 2001, Ripken has continued to be active in the sports world. He and his brother, Billy, are hosts of a baseball talk show on XM Satellite Radio, which is sponsored by Rinnai.
In August 2007, Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice named Ripken a Special Sports Envoy for the U.S. State Department. In that capacity, Ripken visited China in October to conduct several baseball clinics and visit schools to spread the universal language of sport.
