In September, Rep. Albert Wynn (D-MD) held a briefing with members of Air conditioing Refrigeration Institute's (ARI’s) government affairs committee and staff to discuss important issues facing the HVACR industry.
Wynn serves on the influential Energy and Commerce Committee where he is chairman of the Subcommittee on Environment and Hazardous Materials. Currently, Wynn is working on industry-related issues such as regional standards and classification of refrigerants.
The briefing was very successful. Wynn expressed interest in continuing to work with ARI and anticipates scheduling a follow-up meeting in the near future. Capitol Hill visits such as the Wynn briefing provide members with the opportunity to be a part of ARI’s efforts to develop personal relationships with members of Congress, while strengthening lawmakers’ understanding of critical industry issues.
