Iron Man™ Welding Helmet Features Auto-darkening
Lincoln Electric, Cleveland, OH, has released a new, limited edition Iron Man™ VIKING™ auto-darkening welding helmet. This solar-powered helmet joins Lincoln Electric’s 700G Series, and is decorated with authorized graphics inspired by the Iron Man™ 2 movie, and Marvel comics. The solar-powered helmet system comes with battery assistance, instead of an on/off switch, and a grind mode for weld prep and post-weld clean up. It weights 18.3 ounces, which Lincoln Electric sources say is lighter in weight than many auto-darkening helmets.

The helmet features a substantial 3.78 x 1.85 in. (96 x 47 mm) view size with continuously variable 9 to 13 external shade control. Like all 700G Series helmets, this model is magnifying 'cheater' lens-capable. It also features continuously variable delay (0.1 to 1.0 sec.) and sensitivity, to adjust for different welding applications and environments. The Iron Man helmet comes with bonus accessories, including a free welding helmet bag and Lincoln Electric bandana.

Plasma Cutter Adjusts to Input Voltage
Miller Electric Mfg. Co., Appleton, WI, has released the Spectrum® 875 Auto-Line plasma cutter. The cutter weighs 56 pounds, and can cut metal up to 1-1/4-in. thick (7/8-in. at a rated quality of 10 inches per minute). Miller Electric sources say the Spectrum 875 Auto-Line is ideal for fabricators, contractors, and businesses that require job site versatility, portability, and exceptional cutting performance. The Spectrum 875 Auto-Line seamlessly recognizes and adjusts to any input voltage from 208 to 575 volts, single- or three-phase power, and 50 or 60 Hz, without the need for physical linking mechanisms. Auto-Line’s technology enables the unit to operate on generator power without being affected by power fluctuations while using other power tools.
