Starting with the May issue of Contracting Business, we will introduce a bi-monthly department called Tool Tips.
In this department, we will publish tips from you, our contractor readers, on the unique use of, safety tips for, and money saving tips with regard to power and hand tools used by your field technicians.
Here's how it works: If you are a contractor or field technician, and have an idea or a tip involving the use of a hand and power tool that increases safety, saves money, or improves field worker productivity, Contracting Business would love to hear about it.
Be sure to include a good photo depicting the tool and how you use it.
The editor of Contracting Business will select between one and three tips, and publish them in the Tool Tips page. We will award a first-place prize for the best of the three tips published.
The prize, provided courtesy of Klein Tools, is a set of hand tools, valued at $150. The tools include:
— aviation snips
— side cutting pliers
— multi-purpose crimping tool
— 2-piece magnetic nut driver set
— torpedo level
— 10-in-1 screwdriver/nut driver.
Note: some ideas may be submitted by more than one contractor. In those cases, the entry with the cleanest written description and photo will be given precedence.
SEND YOUR ENTRY AND PHOTO TO: Mike Weil, editor-in-chief, Contracting Business, 1300 E. 9th St., Cleveland, OH 44114.
Or, email to: [email protected]. In the email, be sure the subject line says "Tool Tips."
