Carrier Corp., a subsidiary of United Technologies Corp. and Mingledorff’s, Inc. partnered to donate an energy-efficient heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system to Atlanta Habitat for Humanity. The unit has been installed in a new home that Ms. Cassie Pickens and her family will be moving into their new home on September 12. For more than 20 years, Carrier’s donations have helped Habitat for Humanity families have a comfortable, economical home. By the end of 2007, Carrier had donated 335 units and that number continues to grow. In addition to systems, Carrier has sponsored Habitat for Humanity homes worldwide with more than $1 million in donations and thousands of employee volunteer hours. The Pickens household received a Comfort Series™ Packaged Heat Pump, Carrier’s energy-efficient, year-round home comfort system.
