Art LaPointe, vice president and general manager of Construction Specialties, Inc., Cranford, NJ, has been elected president of the Air Movement and Control Association International (AMCA International). The election was announced at the association’s 54th annual meeting held in Quebec, Canada.
LaPointe has been an enthusiastic supporter of AMCA and of industry improvement in both the development of new improved performance products, and the furtheranceof AMCA Standards written into Architectural specifications.
Construction Specialties, Inc. has maintained membership with AMCA for over thirty years, and Mr. LaPointe has been personally involved with AMCA International since 1996. He has served AMCA as co-chair, and chairman of the Air Control division; AMCA Bylaws Task Force Member; and a longtime member of the Statistical Program Committee.
In the last six years he has served as a member of the AMCA board of directors, and more recently as a member of the executive board, holding the positions of director atlarge, treasure, and vice president.
