FieldServer Technologies, Milpitas, CA, a leading manufacturer of gateways for the building automation industry, announced it has joined the Crestron Integrated Partner Program. The goal is to provide interoperability solutions when interfacing to other building automation and control networks and devices.
FieldServer Technologies enables communication between various instruments, systems, and devices that utilize non-compatible data protocols. By using the FieldServer gateway, Crestron is able to bring together information from other devices using such protocols as LonWorks and BACnet to permit them to operate seamlessly in a commercial or residential Crestron control solution environment. By uniting all of the building sub-systems onto a single platform, the integrator can provide a single point of local or remote control via Ethernet using Crestron touch panels, web tablets, keypads or PC via browser.
The basic idea of the FieldServer is to act as a link between two or more different devices, acting as a client and server simultaneously. FieldServer products are a feature rich protocol translator gateways enabling data transfer between the output from Crestron products and an extensive library of other serial and Ethernet protocols used in building automation, HVAC, fire and process control industries.
Crestron designs and manufactures advanced control systems, lighting, HVAC and AV distribution for corporate boardrooms and conference rooms, training facilities, government installations, educational institutions and high-tech homes. For more information, visit crestron.com.
