Rapid growth in a rapidly growing region

Comfort Supply, a wholesale distributor of Ruud HVAC products, announced today the opening of a fifth location in Knoxville. The new warehouse and showroom at 608 Business Park Lane opened for business this month.

Comfort Supply has stores in Nashville, Murfreesboro, Cookeville and Clarksville. The 14,000-square-foot Knoxville location of Comfort Supply will offer everything that residential and commercial contractors need to install and service HVAC equipment.

Comfort Supply will host an open house for contractors at the new location on Thursday, April 21, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

"Knoxville is a particularly good location for Comfort Supply because of its central location within East Tennessee," says David Sosna, branch manager for the new store.

"Knoxville's proximity to and partnership with Oak Ridge, and its investment in energy research also make it an extremely attractive location for a HVAC business," Sosna says.

Knoxville and Oak Ridge form Innovation Valley, which businesses include the headquarters of the Tennessee Valley Authority and facilities for the U.S. Department of Energy. In 2010, Forbes ranked Knoxville 56th on its list of Best Places for Business and Careers. Within the Forbes ranking, Knoxville landed 27th in the Cost of Doing Business, an index based on the cost of labor, energy, taxes and office space.

"Knoxville was the next logical step for Comfort Supply," says CEO Clay Blevins. "We look forward to working with HVAC retailers within the community and being a part of this forward-looking city."

Comfort Supply has grown at a rapid rate in recent years, expanding from one location in Nashville to five within five years. Its first new location in Murfreesboro opened in 2006, the Cookeville office opened in 2008 and the Clarksville location opened last year. The company's revenue has grown at an annual rate of approximately 20 percent for the past five years.

"We have built our business on a commitment to customer service, an outstanding product at a fair price and by keeping up with technological trends within the industry," Blevins said. "Our Knoxville location will continue these commitments and traditions."
