    AHR EXPO 2012

    The 64th International Air Conditioning, Heating and Refrigerating Exposition will play host to over 50,000 HVACR industry professionals from more than 120 countries on January 23-25, 2012 at McCormick Place in Chicago.

    With over 2,000 exhibitors from 35 different countries, the 2012 AHR Expo is gearing up to be the biggest event to date. This year's event will focus on Green and IAQ-related products. Attendees can look for special signs placed in booths that will be showcasing either Green or IAQ products.

    The exhibit hall will include the Building Automation and Control showcase. The BAC Showcase has been growing each year and will feature over 100 exhibitors showcasing the latest in Building Automation and Facility Management systems.

    Attendees can stop by the Software Center to see the latest product demos of customized HVACR software. Three New Product Technology theaters will feature over 50 exhibitor presentations of the newest products on the market today. HVACR professionals can learn about important industry trends and improved techniques at the many educational programs, seminars and workshops offered at the expo. Free sessions include:

    The GU100 offers endless hot water and is Energy Star listed at 0.94EF.     The third-generation in LG’s Multi V series uses innovative VRF technology that enables improved energy efficiency by allowing occupants to choose whether to air condition or heat only the zones in use. Multi V III will be LG’s flagship commercial HVAC system as demand for energy-saving HVAC technology continues to grow.

    Lochinvar announces that its Crest condensing boiler and Strato-Therm+ solar thermal storage tank are among the products recognized in the 2012 AHR Expo Innovation Awards. Crest was awarded Honorable Mention in the Heating category, while Strato-Therm+ received Honorable Mention in the Green Building Products category. The Crest condensing boiler is available in five models that range from 1.5 to 3.5 million BTUH, and offers thermal efficiencies as high as 99%.

The result of a collaboration between Electro Static Technology (EST) and Fluke Corporation and available from both companies, the kit includes a special replaceable probe tip for highly accurate voltage readings on rotating equipment. Designed by EST, this tip is the first of its kind, containing high-density conductive microfibers that ensure continuous contact with a rotating motor shaft.     McQuay International will be showcasing the Daikin McQuay Rebel rooftop unit. The Daikin McQuay Rebel is the first official submission to a rooftop unit challenge facilitated by the U.S. Department of Energy to develop the next generation of high-efficiency air conditioners for commercial buildings. The performance features outlined by the challenge are aimed at reducing energy use by as much as 50 to 60% over current equipment.

    The Rebel unit will be available in three to 15 ton sizes and offers a modulating hot gas reheat option.
