The nation's heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and
refrigeration (HVACR) firms will celebrate National Indoor Comfort Week®
April 23-29.

Initiated by the Air Conditioning Contractors of America (ACCA) in 2003,
National Indoor Comfort Week highlights the contributions America's HVACR
professionals make to their communities. ACCA is the nationwide trade
association representing HVACR contracting businesses.

"HVACR has been called the 'hidden industry,'" says ACCA President and CEO
Paul T. Stalknecht, "yet when you think about it, the lives we live today
would be impossible without the men and women who keep our homes and places
of business comfortable and healthy, and our food and medicine fresh.

"HVACR contractors are even responsible for the technological and computer
advancements that have made the American economy what it is today," says Stalknecht.

"These devices could not be manufactured were it not for the 'clean rooms' and
temperature-controlled environments designed by HVACR contractors."

The nation's HVACR industry employs nearly 250,000 people in a variety of
skilled, well-paying jobs. Moreover, most ACCA member contractors are small,
independent businesses, the backbone of our country.

National Indoor Comfort Week also helps to educate consumers about HVACR so
that they can make intelligent choices.

While the special week was originally created by ACCA, it is now an
industry-wide initiative. Other sponsors include the Association for Home
Appliance Manufacturers (AHAM), the Air-conditioning and Refrigeration
Institute (ARI), Heating Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration Distributors
International (HARDI), North American Technician Excellence (NATE), and the
Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors Association (PHCC).

ACCA says the Comfort Week is a largely grassroots effort, and most activity will take place on the local
level. To help HVACR professionals and organizations celebrate in style,
ACCA has put together an extensive resource guide that includes event ideas,
news release templates, and consumer information downloads. It is available
at www.comfortweek.com/, a new website in the ACCA family.

"We've been 'hidden' for far too long," says Stalknecht. "We urge our
members and partners to take advantage of this opportunity to raise
awareness of the HVACR industry."
