Everybody talks about the weather, but the Habegger Corp., Cincinnati, OH, decided to do something about it.
To relieve the discomfort and potential health risks the summer's hot spells posed for the city's elderly, the family-owned company donated 30 room air conditioners to People Working Cooperatively (PWC), a 30 year-old, non-profit organization that specializes in helping poor and elderly homeowners.
The Habegger Corp. distributes Bryant, Carrier, and Payne heating and air conditioning products through 23 branches in Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, Illinois, and Iowa.
Pat Linhardt, manager of Habegger's Hydronic Heating Division — and a frequent contributor to Contracting Business magazine, coordinated the donation efforts. Linhart is also chairperson for Air Conditioning Contractors of America (ACCA) Greater Cincinnati Chapter’s efforts for “Heat the Country,” a nationwide program designed to provide safe heating for elderly, disabled, and lower income homeowners.
