Rheem Manufacturing Company, Ft. Smith, AR has reached a multi-year agreement with the Professional Golfers’ Association (PGA) Tour and the Stephens Media Group, to ensure that Ft. Smith remain a primary springtime stop on the PGA Tour’s calendar through 2006. According to Rheem, the event provides positive publicity for Rheem and the Ft. Smith area. the sposnsorhip agreement provides stability and growth potential for the event, which is important to continuing support of charities that has exceeded $650,000 in six years.
The tournament, known as the “Rheem Classic, Presented by Times Record” will be played at Hardscrabble Country Club through 2006. The 2004 Rheem Classic tournament is scheduled for April 19 ¯ 25. In 2005 and 2006, the Rheem Classic will move to May.
The Rheem Classic, Presented by Times Record, is dedicated to promoting the well being of children and those in need of help and support. Charity beneficiaries of the Rheem Classic are selected annually by the Rheem Classic Tournament Board. This year’s beneficiaries are:

- Children’s Emergency Shelter
- Inter-Faith Community Preschool
- RSVP
- Foundation of Youth Adult Daycare
