One dollar donation buys two meals.

Maxwell Systems, Inc., a leading provider of complete construction business management software, announced the company's recent donation to Philabundance, the region's largest hunger relief organization.

During a four-week long food drive at the company's King of Prussia, PA headquarters office, Maxwell Systems employees donated 430 pounds of food and the company matched those efforts with a financial contribution, which in total helps Philabundance provide 1,280 meals for local families in need.

Donating money helps because Philabundance can provide two meals for each dollar. "I am incredibly proud of the generosity shown by Maxwell associates who are passionate about making a difference in our community," says Jim Flynn, president/CEO of Maxwell Systems. "Everyone here is glad to be able to support the important work of Philabundance to deliver much-needed assistance that helps our neighbors."

Philabundance needs community support year-round, but especially in the summer.

"Summer is a tough time for families in our region as well as for the hunger relief organizations trying to keep up with the ever increasing demand," explains Bill Clark, president and executive director of Philabundance.

Philabundance reduces hunger and food insecurity in the Delaware Valley by providing food access to people in need in partnership with organizations and individuals. Philabundance provides a full plate of services through direct service programs and a network of close to 500 member agencies in nine counties. Philabundance serves approximately 65,000 people per week at a cost of 50 cents per meal. There are more than 900,000 people in the Delaware Valley who are at risk for chronic hunger and malnutrition.

In 2011, Philabundance distributed 21 million pounds of food. For more information about Philabundance, visit philabundance.org or call 215-339-0900. Philabundance's Food Help Line number is, 800-319-Food (3663).
