Trane Leaders Promote Careers inHigh Performance Buildings

The U.S. Green Building Council reports that building owners and operators can reduce 20-25% of their energy costs by taking a high performance building approach.

On November 29, leaders from Trane discussed the dramatic growth of building solution offerings tied to energy efficiency and sustainability. They also discussed the need for developing a technically capable workforce to meet current and future market demand in a presentation at CareerTech VISION 2012, hosted by the Association for Career and Technical Education (ACTE).

High performance buildings take a whole-building approach to performance while creating spaces that are reliable, safe, healthy, comfortable and efficient. High performance buildings meet specific standards for energy and water consumption, system reliability and uptime, environmental compliance and occupant comfort. All standards are set to deliver established outcomes that help building owners and occupants achieve their business missions.

Greg Josefchuk, strategic programs leader for Trane, addressed the needs of the industry and how career and technical education (CTE) plays a vital role in preparing the workforce of tomorrow.
