Eliminate Microbial Organisms that Cause ‘Dirty Sock’ Syndrome

Coleman® Heating and Air Conditioning recently expanded its Echelon Series of indoor air quality (IAQ) solutions with the introduction of the Echelon UVC germicidal light.

Installed inside HVAC systems, the Echelon UVC germicidal light irradiates wet evaporator sections that foster mold and fungus growth. These microbial organisms can be responsible for foul odors, otherwise known as the “dirty sock” syndrome, IAQ complaints, and reduced system efficiency, as they restrict airflow and limit heat transfer capability.

By eliminating these organisms, the UVC germicidal light eliminates the associated odors, improves IAQ, increases system efficiency, and reduces HVAC operating costs. The reduced buildup of organisms on the coil offers the added benefit of reduced system maintenance costs.

Destroy Airborne Type A Influenza including H1N1

Sanuvox Technologies has received inquiries following the recent swine influenza (H1N1 virus) outbreak in Mexico, the U.S., Canada, and other parts of the world. Sanuvox UV Air Sterilization Systems are designed to destroy airborne biological contaminants including swine influenza.

Using proprietary UV technology, the Sanuvox in-duct ultraviolet air sterilization system is designed to maximize exposure time between the air and the UV germicidal energy. The UV system delivers the optimal UV dosage penetrating the cell membrane destroying the DNA structure of the virus.

Sanuvox Technologies manufactures UV air sterilization systems which are installed into the ductwork, and designed to sterilize the biological contaminants as they pass through the UV system. Sanuvox also manufactures mobile decontamination units and stand-alone HEPA filter/ultraviolet air sterilization systems designed to destroy bio contaminants while trapping particles down to .3 microns in size.

Mini Leak Detection Flashlight Is Easy to Use in Tight Spots

Spectronics Corporation has unveiled Spectroline® OPX-500CS OPTIMAX Jr. — a cordless leak detection flashlight that reveals refrigerant leaks in cramped areas inaccessible to larger lamps. It is just 71/4 -in. long, weighs 5 oz., and can fit in a shirt pocket, sources say.

This flashlight makes fluorescent dyes glow brightly so technicians can quickly pinpoint leaks in air conditioning and refrigeration systems. It provides over four hours of peak performance with a choice of continuous or intermittent illumination.

The Optimax Jr. is powered by three AA batteries and uses an LED bulb with a 100,000-hour life. The flashlight comes with fluorescence-enhancing glasses in a handy clamshell package.
