Tom McCart, a well-known consultant and business trainer in the HVAC industry, as a has been diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), better known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease. The disease, a progressive nerve disorder, generally begins with weakness in the hands or feet and progresses up the arms or legs. It eventually affects nerves throughout the entire body, which can lead to difficulty speaking, swallowing or breathing. There is no cure. Tom, a long-time member of Contracting Business magazine’s Editorial Advisory Board and a frequent contributor to the magazine, is the founder of No Secrets Training Systems, an HVAC and plumbing business consulting and seminar company. He is a partner with the Service Roundtable, and a frequent speaker at HVAC Comfortech and other industry events. Due to the illness, Tom has stopped his heavy travel schedule and will focus on training contractors on his highly successful The Business of Business Workshop at his Ft. Myers, FL location. Tom has recruited Rick Williamson to take over his out-of-state training and coaching. Rick is a 28-year veteran contractor who has used Tom’s systems for over 10 years. Williamson entered the HVAC Industry as a field technician in 1975. In 1980, he was recruited by Rheem/Ruud Manufacturing to head a service/support department in the company’s Greater Phoenix branch. While there, Rick developed many in-house training programs to enhance the field performance of the company’s dealer base. Through the years, Williamson and McCart kept a close working relationship as well as a personal friendship. Williamson has implemented the No Secrets Business Systems and Selling System in several companies since 1992. “This experience and Rick’s credentials in the industry more than qualifies him to represent the No Secrets Training Systems programs and workshops,” says McCart. “His willingness to help independent contractors avoid some of the mistakes he has made and improve their profitability is paramount. Rick brings industry knowledge, integrity, and field-level experience to the table.” McCart may be reached at 941/482-7062, or by e-mail at [email protected].
