The Luxaire brand of Johnson Controls recently presented a check in the amount of $12,707 to the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Oklahoma. The check, which was presented prior to the start of the March 3 hockey game between the Oklahoma City Blazers and the Wichita Thunder, represents the proceeds of live and silent auctions held during a Blazers “Throwback” uniform night in February.
For a Blazers hockey game in February, the team wore replicas of its 1992-93 season uniforms, which were white, black, and gold uniforms, as the current Blazers’ team uniforms were being bid on during a silent auction.
At a live auction following the game, the 15 greatest players in Blazers’ team history were introduced and honored by the auctioning of their game jerseys.
The $12,707 donation will be added to Luxaire’s minimum annual contribution of $250,000 to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. In addition, dollars raised by the brand’s combined sales efforts and dealer fundraisers will support Make-A-Wish chapters located in dealer markets.
