MSCA Launches HVACR Career Website

The Mechanical Service Contractors of America (MSCA), Rockville, MD, and the United Association of the Plumbing, Pipefitting and Sprinklerfitting Industry of the United States and Canada (UA) have launched www.5STARCareers.com, a new HVACR career site for aspiring technicians, guidance counselors, and educators looking to learn about the demand for HVACR services technicians, and the advantages of an HVACR career.
The site also offers a mechanism for experienced technicians seeking new career opportunities to showcase their skills to over 1,200 MSCA members.
The 5 STAR Careers website is a resource for learning about the advantages of a career as a HVACR service technician and gives advice on how to get the required training. The site illustrates what a technician does, career path examples and the training options available, including the ability to earn college credits. A link to technical schools accredited by HVAC Excellence is available on the site for students looking for a local training center.
“A career as a HVACR service technician can be very rewarding as it’s a high-tech, fast-paced industry with a high demand for new, talented technicians,” says Barbara Dolim, Executive Director of MSCA. “Our 5 STAR Careers website helps guide those interested in the field with the resources needed to help make an educated decision on a career as a HVACR service technician. It also gives parents, guidance counselors and educators insight into the career and what benefits are present to trained technicians.”
Through the 5 STAR Careers site, experienced technicians can submit their detailed career profile that will be posted on the site’s members-only section. Over 1,200 MSCA contractors and 300 local UA unions will then have access to these profiles to help address manpower needs in their area.
“Through the 5 STAR Careers site, we hope to connect experienced technicians looking to expand their career horizons with contractors that offer great benefits, certification and access to the best training in the industry,” says Dolim.
The website is part of 5 STAR Careers, a campaign from MSCA and the United Association of the Plumbing, Pipefitting and Sprinkler Fitting Industry of the United States and Canada (the UA), to raise awareness of the benefits of a career as a HVACR service technician and recruit the next generation of technicians.
