• MSCA Officers Announced:Lake, Starr, Berger

    All three have significant HVACR industry experience.

    New officers of the Mechanical Service Contractors of America (MSCA) were introduced on October 17, as the association concluded the business session of its 27th Annual Educational Conference in Carlsbad, CA.

    Robert A. Lake was named chairman of the MSCA Board of Managers; Richard A. Starr was named vice chairman; and Scott Berger was appointed treasurer.

    Robert Lake is president and chief operating officer of EMCOR Services Mesa Energy Systems, Inc., Irvine, CA. He was previously chief financial officer of the company. He began his career with Ernst & Young and Deloitte & Touche certified public accounting (CPA) firms, where he first worked as a staff accountant and later as audit manager. He then founded his own CPA firm which he grew for nine years before selling it to Corbin & Wertz in 1995.

    Lake currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Mechanical Contractors Association of America (MCAA). EMCOR Services Mesa Energy Systems, Inc., is an MSCA GreenSTAR contractor.

    Richard A. “Dick” Starr, LEED AP is president and owner of The Enterprise Corporation in Twinsburg, OH. Prior to acquiring his own business, he worked as presi­dent of the systems/service division of a large Northeastern Ohio mechanical contractor. In February, 2008, Starr became Northern Ohio’s first LEED AP, Accredited within the “Existing Building Operations & Maintenance” (EBOM) track. In addition, Enterprise was named Contractor of the Year for 2011 by Contracting Business magazine and is an MSCA GreenSTAR contractor. Starr also serves on the Board of Directors of MCAA.

    Scott Berger is president of Arista Air Conditioning Corp., in Long Island City, N.Y. Prior to becoming president of the company, he held positions in sales, sales management, and operations. Berger also serves in leadership roles at a number of other industry-related organizations including the Mechanical Contracting Education and Research Foundation and the Mechanical Contracting Association of New York. Arista is an MSCA GreenSTAR contractor.
