Independence, Ohio, May 3, 2022 --  Rob "Doc" Falke, president of National Comfort Institute has died of COVID-related pneumonia and other complications.

"The industry has suffered an unbelievable loss. My partner and brother Rob Falke passed away last night after a long battle with COVID-related pneumonia and other complications. I am still in shock as I write this. Your were taken too soon my best friend," wrote NCI CEO Dominick Guarino today on the NCI Facebook page.

As a contractor-turned-educator, Falke was tireless in his work promoting quality HVAC system installations and airflow based on sound science too often overlooked by many contractors. His columns on HVAC service appeared regularly in Contracting Business.

Described on LinkedIn as the father of today’s air balancing and diagnostic testing industry, Falke and National Comfort Institute had trained and certified over 10,000 HVAC professionals for close to two decades. Falke published hundreds of articles, technical procedures and reports during his career serving the air conditioning and heating industry.

Contracting Business was privileged to have Rob as a contributing author, and the HVAC industry was fortunate to have him as a champion of many of the best practices that make airflow tick.

IN THIS ARTICLE, Rob shared his history as an HVAC contractor and his path to becoming a standard-bearer for proper system installations and testing.
