LiveWorx: Trane Experts to Provide Insight on Internet of Things, June 6-9

Leaders from Trane will teach LiveWorx attendees about how Internet of Things devices can be used to improve service, quality and technology to help gain a competitive edge.

Leaders from Trane, a leading global provider of indoor comfort solutions and services and a brand of Ingersoll Rand, will teach attendees about how Internet of Things (IoT) devices can be used to improve service, quality and technology to help gain a competitive edge at LiveWorx 2016. The conference is being held June 6-9 in Boston, at the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center.

Trane leaders will educate attendees about how connected devices are transforming industries – including heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) solutions and services –the benefits that can be gained and how potential challenges can be overcome and quality can be assured.

Kevin Bollom, vice president of building services for Trane, will participate in a keynote presentation and a panel discussion. Bollom will contribute to “Transformation Journeys,” a keynote address in which Craig Hayman, group president, IoT solutions group for PTC, will discuss the journey of transformation that organizations are undertaking as they harness the opportunities offered by IoT. Bollom will share how Trane is redefining how it engages and services customers and is successfully embracing connected devices to improve building operations performance, increased energy efficiency and positively impact the bottom line.

Bollom will also participate in a panel discussion, “Journeys of Transformation” featuring business leaders/PTC customers in engineering, manufacturing and service organizations discussing how their journeys of transformation enable them to realize new levels of business value.

Dominic Hand, information technology (IT) director, Engineering, for Ingersoll Rand, will participate in a panel discussion, “Augmented Reality (AR) in the Enterprise and ThingX,” about how augmented reality can be applied in the enterprise. Hand will discuss how augmented reality could be used to improve service operations and increase customer satisfaction.

Hand will also describe Trane’s experience evaluating PTC’s newest augmented reality software, which will be demonstrated by Trane at LiveWorx.

Trane leaders also will demonstrate an AR experience as part of a pilot program with PTC’s ThingWorx, the most widely adopted IoT technology platform. The pilot leverages IoT for servicing Trane’s building automation system through integration with the augmented reality capabilities offered by PTC’s Vuforia mobile vision platform. Trane leaders John DuBay, business development manager; Steve Eckart, IT architect; and Joe Vance, technical product support will demonstrate how Vuforia can enhance the building operations monitoring process for users in the Ingersoll Rand | Trane Building Advantage booth in the IoT Plaza in the Xtropolis exhibit area at the following times: June 6, 5-8 p.m.; June 7, 7 a.m.-7:30 p.m.; June 8, 7:30 a.m.-6 p.m.

Sean McCoy, senior systems engineer for IT for Trane, will present on IoT best practices for building controls and automation and participate in a panel discussion:

Based on the heating, ventilation and air conditioning industry’s decades of experience with connected devices, McCoy will offer guidance on IoT best practices for building controls and automation.
