Minneapolis, MN — MAMAC Systems, a global manufacturer of industrial and commercial sensors and control peripherals, announces the purchase of West Virginia-based Redpoint Controls, a company dedicated to embedded Ethernet-based, Web-enabling products. The purchase will allow MAMAC to introduce low-cost, Web-monitored sensor technology to small businesses and individual consumers.

“Redpoint's Red-I technology allows our sensors to communicate with end- users via standard Internet technology,” said S. Asim Gul, founder, president and CEO of MAMAC Systems. “The cost savings and intuitive monitoring systems that we will be able to offer through this innovation will open up a whole new market for our products. The owner of a small grocery will be able to check everything from the temperature of the meat freezer to the lighting in the parking lot from his/her laptop at home and make adjustments if needed.”

Recently, MAMAC also concluded an agreement with Massachusetts-based Metropac Industries which allows Metropac to distribute MAMAC products to more than 8,000 wholesalers and distributors across the United States and Canada.

“Metropac's size and scope of operations will help increase our visibility and product availability within our target markets… especially with smaller, less automated distributors,” Gul said.

Metropac Industries was founded in 1937 and currently carries more than 50 product lines. It is one of the largest distributors of HVACR equipment in North America and operates a 45,000-sq.-ft. automated distribution facility in Foxboro, MA.
