During 2018 AHR Expo, Marcus Borman, global marketing manager for RIDGID, spoke to Rob McManamy of HPAC Engineering about new tool innovations.
"We're emphasizing a lot of new products we've introduced to the market," Borman said. "Our PEX-One tool can do half-inch to one-inch PEX connections. We designed it for one-handed application, because all the other tools in the market are really designed for two-hands, and it's beneficial to do everything you need to do with a tool with one hand."
"Also, our RP 240 and RP 241 compact press tools are about a pound lighter than previous models, to help contractors get into tight spaces, and reduce fatigue. Our Mega Press jaws can do half- and three-quarter-inch black steel. And our Mega Press XL booster that we partnered with Viega for, that can 2.5 to 4-in. black steel."
Borman said the biggest trend is making tools that are smaller, lighter faster, and more ergonomic.
